A stunning complete set of eight collector's plates from the "Poetic Visions of Japan" series, beautifully painted by master artist Yoshiharu Katoh and produced by the Ketsazum Kiln, Japan, in 1988.

Inspired by the beauty and tranquillity of traditional Japanese Haiku poetry, each plate depicts an elegant scene from Japanese culture and landscape, rendered in vibrant, richly detailed colours. The artwork remains bright and unfaded, and all eight plates are in very good vintage condition, with no cracks, chips, or crazing.

Plate 1 – Plum Blossoms
Features a geisha in a blue patterned kimono holding a parasol and fan, surrounded by delicate pink blossom.

Plate 2 – A Butterfly
Depicts a geisha in a green patterned kimono with a yellow butterfly resting on her finger, seated within the spring gardens of Kyoto's Kinkaku-ji Temple.

Plate 3 – Snowy Heron
Shows a geisha in a red patterned kimono holding a fan, with pagodas, trees, blue flowers, and three snowy herons in flight in the background.

Plate 4 – Orphan Sparrow
Features a geisha in a navy blue patterned kimono with a sparrow perched on her hand, standing in a garden before a traditional pagoda building.

Plate 5 – Cherry Flowers
Depicts a geisha in a red and pink patterned kimono cradling a partially hidden cat, seated beneath blossoming trees beside a Koto (Japanese harp) and pagoda.

Plate 6 – Leaves
Shows a geisha in a turquoise-green patterned kimono holding a yellow fan. She stands before a Buddha within a temple, with a Zen sand garden and maple trees beyond.

Plate 7 – Harvest Moon

Plate 8 – Crystal Spring
Depicts a geisha in a navy blue patterned kimono holding a blue and white parasol beside a rocky lake filled with koi carp, with mountains and blossom trees in the background.

The reverse of each plate bears the series information and artist details. The photograph of Plate No. 3's reverse is representative of the markings found on all plates in the collection.

This beautiful series celebrates the elegance, artistry, and traditions of Japan, making it a wonderful display set for collectors and admirers of Japanese art.
