Vintage German jug vase in striking green and black dripware, stamped on the base Germany 524/17. It is possibly a piece by Bay Keramik, produced during the 1980s.

The vase stands on a footed base accented with a gold band and features a rounded, bulbous body with a slim neck that flares elegantly into a pouring spout. The handle extends gracefully from the rim to the body, creating a classic jug silhouette.

The eye-catching dripware glaze begins in a soft mint green at the rim, flowing downwards into a rich black towards the centre of the body. Gold-painted detailing highlights the rim and both sides of the handle, adding a touch of elegance to this distinctive piece.

The vase is in good vintage condition with no cracks or crazing. There is a small chip beneath the handle at the base of the foot, and the gilt decoration on the rim and handle shows some age-related wear. Please see photographs for details.

A wonderful example of vintage German pottery, this charming jug vase would beautifully display fresh flowers, dried foliage, or seasonal arrangements. Perfect on a kitchen windowsill filled with wild spring or summer flowers, it would also make a thoughtful vintage wedding, anniversary, or birthday gift.
