Charming vintage trinket box with Aurora and her chariot, by Wedgwood Blue Jasperware. the back stamp indicates this was produced in 1973.
A pretty blue weighty circular box with lid in very good vintage condition. Aurora and her chariot on a cloud is in white relief on the lid and around the box are reliefs of Roman mythology. In Roman mythology, Aurora is the goddess of dawn and renews herself every morning and rides across the sky before sunrise. This adds a wonderful tale to this trinket box
There are no chips, cracks or wear on the reliefs. There is a slight pale mark near the bottom. See Photos.
A lovely piece to gift for any occasion or just for yourself. And an ideal addition for a Wedgwood Blue collector.
