Large Pearlescent Pedestal Fruit Bowl Attributed to Tomarro | Murano Style – Caramello Series
A striking and substantial mid-century modern pedestal fruit bowl, attributed to Tomarro and crafted in the elegant Murano style as part of the Caramello series.
This impressive piece is made from heavy glass, approximately 1 cm thick, featuring four flowing waves and sculptural curves. The bowl has a beautiful pearlescent champagne tone with a delicate pale pink centre, finished with a clear glass rim that adds a refined contrast and enhances the overall elegance.
The pedestal base is equally impressive, formed from a large clear glass sphere resting on a slightly raised circular disc, creating a dramatic yet balanced display piece.
The bowl is unmarked, which is consistent with many Murano-style glass pieces from this period. The craftsmanship and hand-blown characteristics are evident throughout, including subtle internal bubbles and natural variations within the glass.
Condition
The bowl is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There are some light usage scratches to the underside of the bowl, which are not visible when displayed or filled with fruit. There are also minor nibbles around the base of the bowl, likely dating from manufacture, along with small bubbles and internal marks typical of hand-blown glass. Please see photographs for details.
