A charming vintage Romanian glass basket with a beautiful Victorian-inspired design, dating from around the 1960s. A delightful piece of decorative glassware with wonderful handmade character and an eye-catching colourful finish.
The basket features an elegant ivory white wavy rim decorated with colourful spattered glass in shades of blue, orange, yellow, and red. The bowl rises from a clear four-footed wavy base, with a clear corded handle attached using traditional tied glass techniques and finished with decorative glass nodules.
A lovely example of vintage glass craftsmanship, this basket has a true retro charm and catches the light beautifully, creating a wonderful sparkle when displayed near a window or light source.
