A remarkable large Sklo Union glass bowl vase, designed by renowned Czech designer Václav Hanuš in 1957. This exceptional piece is a superb example of mid-century modern glass design, produced in the 1960s by Hermanova Hut, part of the famous Sklo Union glassworks in Czechoslovakia.
Featured in Mark Hill’s book Hi Sklo Lo Sklo on page 23, this pattern number 20035 vase is highly sought after by collectors and beautifully captures the bold sculptural style of the era, with influences reminiscent of Art Deco design.
The bowl vase features a dramatic combination of opposing frosted and clear glass panels, enhanced by a striking drape pattern that creates a wonderful interplay of light, texture, and movement. A particularly desirable feature is the original removable glass flower frog, which is rarely found complete. Both the bowl and frog are in excellent vintage condition, with no cracks or chips.
