This charming vintage 'Old Britain Castles' soup plate and bread-and-butter plate set was produced by Johnson Bros during the 1930s. Featuring the company's iconic historic castle scenes, the soup plate depicts Blarney Castle (1792), while the bread-and-butter plate features Windsor Castle (1792).
Both plates are in very good vintage condition, with no cracks, chips, or crazing. The transferware decoration on each piece remains bright and attractive, showing only minimal fading. There is some light age-related wear around the edge of the bread-and-butter plate, consistent with careful use and age.
