Jeremy Leach and Robert Tinnyunt stoneware vase with the Tenmoku glaze. Both artists are stamped on the base, circa 1990s. The stamps indicates: J.L - Jeremy Leach, RT - Robert Tinnyunt, Cross - his Christian faith, M for Moorland or Mathilda pottery.
Tawny brown waisted vase with hand brushed leaves in a darker brown, and a dark brown rim. In good vintage condition with no cracks, there appears to be a couple of manufacturing chips and faint crazing. See Photos.
Jeremy Leach,(grandson of Bernard Leach, son of David Leach) met and studied under Robert Tinnyunt, just as Tunnyunt was leaving Lowerdown Studios in the 1970s. Although this vase was made around the 1990s, Jeremy possibly used Tunnyunt stamp as a thank you for the use of his Temuko style painting and glazing.
A wonderful piece of vintage pottery to own or present as a gift for any occasion. A collector item for a Leach collector. I have a similar vase by the same artists for sale in my listing.
