Striking antique Hobstar crystal glass sugar bowl and creamer, dating from the early 1900s. Although unsigned, this beautiful set displays the quality craftsmanship and intricate cutting associated with fine Victorian and Edwardian crystal.
Both pieces feature a stunning 12-point star and 16-point Hobstar cut design worked into heavy crystal glass. The elegant sawtooth rims, decorative cut-out handles, and star-cut bases create wonderful sparkle and light refractions. The crystal also produces a pleasing tonal ring when gently tapped.
The set is in good antique condition. The sugar bowl has one small chip to the sawtooth rim, and both pieces show minor age-related scratches and occasional nibbling consistent with their age and use. Please refer to the photographs for details.
A charming and versatile pair, perfect for use as a sugar bowl and cream jug, or alternatively as decorative pieces, posy vases, or trinket holders. Their timeless elegance makes them a lovely addition to a kitchen, dining room, or afternoon tea setting.
A wonderful gift for a collector of antique glass, or for a wedding, anniversary, or birthday.
