A gloriously vintage Delft vase, beautifully hand painted in traditional blue and white and signed by Digendorf. Dating to approximately 1880, this stunning mid-sized vase is a wonderful example of antique Dutch ceramic artistry, rich in detail and character.
The vase features two ornately decorated panels. One depicts a touching seaside scene of a mother holding her child while wading in the water, while the other showcases elegant floral sprays. Beneath each handle are charming mountain and waterside landscapes, adding further decorative interest.
The vase is finished with a scalloped rim, rounded handles, and low-relief floral decoration around the base and upper body. The intricate hand-painted detail and craftsmanship make this a striking display piece, whether used for flowers or admired on its own.
The base is marked Delft and numbered 278, C.3579/I, and B.2108, with an impressed mark of 3021. The vase is also signed by Digendorf.
The vase is in good antique condition, with no chips or crazing. There is a hairline crack at the base of one handle, which is stable and consistent with the age of the piece. The paintwork and relief decoration remain clear, vibrant, and well preserved. Please see photographs for details.
