Gorgeously Vintage Art Deco Rose/Posy bowl with grid lid. Created by Soudan JB and made in England around the 1920s.
Charming piece consists of 4 curled feet with gold outlines; this square bowl rises gently outwards to rounded shoulders, which flattens inwards to a wide neck on which sits the brass arrangement grid. This bowl is black with beautiful shades of pink roses and green leaves; all intertwined with gold stems and leaves. Imprinted on the base is Soudan, Made in England, JB. Assumed to be by E. F Bodley and Sons.
In very good vintage condition with no cracks, chips or crazing. The decorated flowers and gold gilding is intact. The arrangement grid has brass patina on the outside and is still shining on the inside.
This bowl has all the elegance of the Art Deco era and would look delightful with a choice selection of rose bloom and buds. A wonderful vintage gift for any occasion.
