A gorgeously vintage Art Deco rose or posy bowl with its original arrangement grid, produced by Soudan JB and made in England during the 1920s.
This charming and elegant piece stands on four curled feet highlighted with gold detailing. The square bowl gently flares outward to rounded shoulders before tapering inward to a wide neck, topped by the original brass flower-arranging grid. Rich black in colour, the bowl is beautifully decorated with soft pink roses and green leaves, intertwined with delicate gold stems and foliage, creating a striking and sophisticated design.
The base is impressed with the marks Soudan, Made in England, and JB, and is believed to have been produced by E. F. Bodley & Sons.
This rose bowl is in very good vintage condition, with no cracks, chips, or crazing. The floral decoration and gold gilding remain vibrant and intact. The brass arrangement grid displays an attractive age-related patina to the exterior while retaining its shine on the interior. Please refer to the photographs for further details.
