Very pretty Limoges Porcelain Trinket Box with lid, depicting a Fragonard painting of lovers.
The pot is a shallow dish painted a deep red with gold daisy like flowers and leaves circling the girth and gold rim. The lid is also painted deep red with gold flowers and leaves and gold rim, the centre is white with one of Fragonard's paintings of a lover's scene so popular in the late 1700's.
The Trinket box is in very good condition with no cracks, chips or glazing, the inner rim of the lids has one very small chip which is only noticeable by feel. See photo.
The back stamp is in gold and has the product number B18. This was probably produced during the 1960's -70's.
A charming little pot for small jewellery or pills. A keepsake for a girl's christening. And a lovely addition for any trinket box collector.
