Rare Set of Three Squirrels by Joseph Szeiler | 1960s English Ceramic Figurines | Vintage Collectable
A rare and charming set of three squirrel figurines by renowned ceramic maker Joseph Szeiler, dating from the 1960s. Originally from Hanley and later Burslem, Szeiler’s work is admired by collectors for its detailed modelling, craftsmanship, and characterful animal designs.
Each squirrel has been beautifully crafted with wonderful attention to detail, capturing the playful and curious nature of these woodland creatures. The figurines are finished with Szeiler’s stamp and Made in England mark to the base, with one squirrel also impressed with the number 170.
This delightful trio is in immaculate vintage condition, with no cracks, chips, or crazing. The exceptional condition makes this set particularly desirable, as finding vintage ceramic figurines of this age without damage or wear is increasingly difficult. Please see photographs for details.
A wonderful addition to a collector’s cabinet, mantelpiece, or display shelf, these squirrels bring together vintage charm and mid-century ceramic artistry. A lovely opportunity for collectors of Joseph Szeiler pottery, animal figurines, or English ceramics.
A true piece of mid-20th-century ceramic history, this rare set would make a thoughtful gift or a treasured addition to any collection.
