Delightfully Victorian/Edwardian flow blue posy vase by Myotts Pottery, and part of the 'Oriel' collection. Backstamp mark suggests this was produced in the very early 1900s.
Standing on a fluted scalloped base with gold banding and embossed patterning, this vase rises into a round bellied body; this has embossed patterning and a lovely flow blue design of peonies and leaves. A gold band sits at the top of the body, an embossed banding of fleur de lis (?) flutes out to a scalloped rim edged with gold. The back stamp is blue and clear.
In good used vintage condition with a chip on the underside of the rim and 2 cracks on opposing moulded seams. The blue paintwork is intact and there are some fading on the gold banding. See Photo.
A charming vintage piece from an era gone by when this was the norm in their everyday lives. This would have been a part of a bathroom set consisting of jug and ewer so would well been a toothbrush holder and this too would be fabulous in a modern or shabby chic setting today. A delight vase to gift for any occasion and a lovely addition to a Myott 'Oriel' collection.
